How VNA Works for PR/Marcomms Professionals
- Video News Agency is a website which distributes your video and other digital news content globally directly to journalists and broadcasters who subscribe for free.
- First you'll need to purchase a customer licence and then choose an upload package prior to uploading content onto VNA.
- The upload packages set a limit on the amount of data transfer allowed. Details of all the upload packages are available by clicking here.
- You can categorise your news by sector, sub-sector, region and country. This helps to ensure that VNA-registered journalists can find your news.
- Once you've selected your upload package, you can upload internet-ready films, B-rolls, VNRs, press releases, stills, vodcasts and podcasts and then notify the media that they can obtain the content from VNA.
- Downloads or views of your videos are free.
- We'll alert you when you've reached your upload limit and prompt you to renew or upgrade your package.
- VNA automatically encodes the vast majority of video files (Mpeg 2. Mpeg 4, Flash, Quicktime etc) into Flash (viewable by the majority of desktops and mobile devices worldwide) but also encodes a second file viewable on iPhone and iPads devices.
- VNA automatically notifies registered journalists that your video or other digital news content relevant to their subject area has been posted (you can opt out of this service if you want).
- Email notifications to journalists are triggered every 24 hours at 09.00 GMT, so you are encouraged to contact your target media, too, informing them that the package is available on VNA.
- We advise you to send journalists a link to your VNA news directly to ensure that non-registered target journalists are alerted.
- Journalists, broadcasters and web editors can choose to embed your video news on their own website, or download broadcast quality B-Roll or stills for their own use, copyright-free.
- When uploading B-Roll you have the option to password the files. If you password your B-Roll files journalists are prompted to contact you directly for permission to download the footage.
- You can choose to issue your digital news content exclusively to a single journalist or news organisation, or to a small group of journalists before wider distribution.
- VNA provides you with a dashboard of video analytics on the films embedded by online news portals, indicating which media have downloaded the videos, and the numbers of views on videos which have been embedded on media websites.
- News from anywhere in the world and on any subject appears on VNA's rolling news pages until it has been replaced by fresh news, eventually leaving the home page altogether.
- Your film is also available to view on your own VNA channel pages (or if you are an agency, your client's channel pages).
- You also get your own dedicated video news channel, which can link directly to your clients' websites. You can upload, publish, delete, replace, monitor and suspend your digital news content.
